AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.

In principle and in practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability.

AAUW is California's most active and diverse organization for women offering action for equity, personal and professional growth, community leadership and friendships.

The Concord Branch of AAUW through its Education Foundation awards scholarships annually to women who have completed their studies at Los Medanos and Diablo Valley Colleges and have been accepted at a four year college or university. Major funds are raised by the membership through working at San Francisco 49er home football games and from direct donations of members. The Concord Branch also sends local Jr. High girls to Tech Trek, a summer program promoting math and science at California State University Sonoma.
